Not every child gets spring break with their dad but the stars alligned and Travis, Grace and Anna all had spring break last week. We decided to go to the Mall of America in Minnieapolis Minnisota and we had a blast. Out of the 400+ store the winner for us by far was the American Girl Doll store. It was full of dolls accesories, a cafe and even a hair salon for the dolls. Being that I haven't even had a hair cut for almost a year I couldn't justify spending $15 for Grace's doll to get her hair done. However, it was fun to see to see it all. Nelson's favorite store was Lego land which had an 11 ton lego statue. It was impressive. The best part of all was the theme park right in the middle of the mall. Roller coasters and all. Grace still has another inch to go before she can ride any of the "cool" rides, or so we thought until we discovered the Wonderpets fly boat. It was my favorite minute of the trip and if you watch the video below you'll see why.
After leaving the Mall of America we went to watch the airplanes landing at the airport which was across the street.
Just seeing the planes was enough for me but then it got better. A man in a van pulled up. I thought he was going to kick us out. He told us to meet him in the hanger up the road and he would let the kids see a plane up close. And by up close he meant it. They just got to sit in the cockpit for 20 minutes touching whatever buttons they wanted. It's not everyday you have a commercial airplane as your playground.
